In 1988, Fluor Corporation came to Gahlen Carpenter and William Olund with a problem. Their OEM's level of service for Fluor's computer infrastructure left much to be desired. Olund and Carpenter accepted the challenge and set to work redefining and remaking Fluor's processes to achieve better and faster service response, and a 50% reduction in Fluor's computer maintenance costs.

After their success at Fluor, Carpenter and Olund sat back and realized just what they'd accomplished. They also realized that there are literally thousands of corporate users dissatisfied with their OEM service departments. SSCS was born. And before long, word got around that a better option (alternative) for computer services and maintenance was available.
